T4 Scotland tour, July 2015
This was a 2 week tour. We started out on the 4/7 15 and arrived home on the 18/7 15. First stop was Carlisle, then to Lomond , Oban, Isle of Mull, Iona, Isle of Skye. Some of the scenery was breathtaking. We did 5 nights of wild camping, that is not on a campsite. We found plenty of places to stop for free if you want to save a bit. We found the campsite fees to be reasonable for the time of year. The cheapest was £15, and this had showers toilets etc. The dearest was £23, but on this one the hook up gharge was rather dear, £4.30. So even this site would have been under £20. We only had the hook up on 2 sites, just to charge phones and camera. And believe me it was a drivers paradise. Sometimes we never saw a car for miles on end, I forgot what traffic was. On the Isle of Mull it was mainly single track roads with lots of passing places. In the main the roads were kept in very good repair. The A roads on the mainland were fantastic, I was wishing I was in my Porsche. All the Scottish people we met were really friendly and helpful, although a lot of people who own a campsite, cafe, shop or pub were from down south on the mainland. The T4 ran like a dream. I put new discs and pads on before we went so they are well broken in now. I am glad I did, I found a couple had jammed up (single piston calipers). We did 1,277 miles altogether and it was the easiest driving I have ever done on a journey like this.
