This is a van I have been chipping away at for about 8 years. It was a van I bought off ebay just to display my T4 interiors. The idea was to scrap it afterwards, as it had a blown engine and was needing new panels from the waste down. I decided to keep it as a project. The original engine was a 1.9D 1X. It was impossible at the time to find one of these. In the end I fitted a VW Golf 1.9 TDI engine with the 1X engine intake and injector pump. Its a bit slow so I may fit a turbo at some point. There were quite a few panels to cut out and renew. I have all the photos from start to finish. The next thing I thought about was the roof. I decided to design my own so I set to and made a pattern. From this I made a mould then the roof cap from the mould. The next job was the slide out beds up top and the making of the fabric canopy. Which I did myself as well. I also decided to paint the van myself so as you can see its matt green. As you can see from the photos its nearly complete now. Just a few things to do yet, fridge, heater etc.
